Norman Sohn, after graduating magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with honors from City College of New York, attended New York University School of Medicine. Following graduation he completed an internship and residency program in general surgery at New York University Medical Center. He then was a Fellow in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Sohn resides with his wife Judith and granddaughter, Gila in Englewood, NJ. Their son Evan, is a vice president at Empact, a network management software company. His wife Michelle is a manufacturing engineer at Oxo Products. They live with their children, Justin who was born in 1999 and Julia, born in 2001 in Englewood. Dr. and Mrs. Sohn's daughter Elana, a marketing consultant at KPMG, her husband, Dr. Boaz Lissauer, a Manhattan oculoplastic surgeon, and their daughter Dana live in Englewood.
